INNOVATOR FORUM 2
RAMP Indonesia held its second Innovator Forum in Bogor from 29 – 30 October 2010. This event was held at two locations, namely Gurih 7 and IPB ICC Botani Square, and was attended by almost all innovators supported by RAMP Indonesia. Besides update presentation from each innovator, life interaction and discussion were also part of this event. On this event, innovators were given trainings on financial management as part of the capacity building to empower them to become not only outstanding technology expert and researcher but also good entrepreneur in commercializing their own inventions. Jill Tucker – Senior Program Officer from The Lemelson Foundation was present on the event. In addition, Amos Winter, PhD – Director of MIT Mobility Lab also attended the forum to share his experience and his innovation on Leverage Freedom Chair (LFC) that is very unique and compact in design for people with disability.
Another activity of this forum was to visit PT. Samudera Teknik Mandiri which is located in Sindang Barang, Bogor. This field visit was meant to add insight for innovators in starting business on the innovation. PT. Samudera Teknik Mandiri manufactures Suritech: fish meat and bone separating machine, this company was established with support from RAMP Indonesia Program as part of the acknowledgment to the innovator and the plan to commercialize the innovation of Suritech.
As an enabling activity to strengthen the cooperation among innovators in technology or business incubation stage, this Innovator Forum of RAMP Indonesia is held routinely twice a year, i.e. every April and October.
